On Bank Holiday Monday we held a day of cricket as our tribute to Phil Alexander.
Over 200 family, friends and team mates gathered to celebrate in a way we think Phil would have approved; start the day with bacon sarnies, open the bar, fire up the BBQ and play cricket.
His old team, the Falcons re-united for this 40-over game, played in the only way Phil ever did; wanting to win and playing competitively, but always with a smile and chuckle.
We dedicated a gate to him at the entrance he used every weekend in the summer, and rounded off the day with a T20 match, BBQ, and beer, and laughter and a few tears.
Phil Alexander 1975-2017. Sadly gone, but not forgotten.
