Members invited to help shape the future of the club at Friday's AGM

Thirty members attended Outwood Cricket Club’s Annual General Meeting held on 13 February in the Lloyd Hall.

Club treasurer Helen Hiscocks presented the financial report for 2025, which in summary demonstrated that the club's financial position remained healthy with cost of running matching the receipts from membership, match fees and events.

The Chairman, James Malley reflected on the 2025 season, highlighting progress on and off the field, and outlined early plans and ambitions for the 2026 campaign. Members received updates on the successful delivery and use of the new mobile covers, news on maintenance to the fixed nets, together with encouraging progress on refurbishing the showers and toilets to improve the environment for all and address longstanding maintenance issues.

Officers were re-elected, with thanks offered to Ashley Middleton and to Harry Mawer, who stands down for 2026 as club secretary. George Stoyle was elected in his place. George Hess becomes Captain of the Saturday 2s, with Adam Kendall as Vice-Captain. All the other club officials remain in situ.

The meeting concluded with a productive workshop, inviting members to set out objectives for inclusion in the Club’s updating of our five-year plan, required by the ECB as part of Clubmark accreditation. An online survey will also be circulated to allow absent members to contribute their ideas and help shape the Club’s future direction.

Under AOB, membership fees were discussed, and the Management Committee will review arrangements for 2027.

At the conclusion of the meeting, members were treated to a delicious two-course supper kindly provided by long-term sponsor and friend of the club, The Outwood Butcher. Matt 'Bingo' Burgess presented another fabulous raffle which raised £120 for the club.
