Buddy Holly had the Crickets

Outwood had the Grasshoppers
Not quite the balmy summer's evening the forecasters predicted, but a capacity crowd turned out to watch the Outlaws progress to the Slam quarter finals with a comprehensive win over the Oxted Grasshoppers.
Matt won the toss (honestly - get him to pick your lottery numbers) and the Outlaws batted first.
Openers Ash and Michael set off at a blistering pace and scored some runs as a fair lick. Michael went first, followed by Ash, then uncharacteristically Marcus in short order - thereby denting several fantasy cricket manger's averages.
LRW played a cameo 18 from 10, and skipper Matt almost scored an eight ball zero, ruined only by two sixes in his last three balls, hoisting the Outlaws to 201 from their 20
Two wickets in two balls checked the Grasshoppers chase from the off, a 76 stand from Kourea and Dobson gave the 'hoppers hope, but 10 an over was a tall order.
The young guns did the bizzo once again and made scoring very difficult - 127-7 in 20 their tally
So three from three. Now to the big one - The Mavericks at the OCG in a match where they will be looking for revenge and we will be looking to cement our credentials as Slam Contenders.
Save the date; 20 June at 6pm at the OCG.
Come on the 'Wood
