The 2026 season of the Outwood Cricket Academy summer season for boys and girls aged 8 to 14 will start on Thursday 23rd April from 6.30pm to 8.00pm and run for twelve weeks until Thursday 9th July.

Introduction
Outwood's Youth Academy provides cricket coaching for boys and girls aged 8 to 14 and has been running over ten years, with many of its members graduating to playing in the Club’s senior men's and women's teams. We run teams which play in the Surrey Junior Cricket Championship. For information on teams please go to the relevant team section.
Our Sponsors
The Academy is currently looking for a new sponsor. If you are interested please contact info@outwoodcricket.club
Cost
The cost of the Academy is £105 per child for the Academy outdoor season, which runs from mid-April through to July. The Academy welcomes both boys and girls.
Coaching
The U8 to U14 age groups train on Thursday Academy evenings from 6.30 to 8.00pm, starting on Thursday 23rd April 2026.
The coaching team is led by Lyle Kercher and Paul Griffiths along with Rachel Walters, Matt McGrath, Mike Ladyman, Steve Ullman, Leigh Goodwin and Marianna Graham, all of whom possess ECB Level 1, 2 or 3 coaching qualifications.
The Club encourages club members and parents to undertake ECB recognised qualifications including Coach Support Worker and ECB Level 1 and 2. The Academy recognises the invaluable contribution made club members and parents to the running of the Academy and welcomes all contributions no matter how large or small.
Competitive Cricket
The Academy is committed to ensure that all children will have an opportunity to play competitive cricket. The Academy runs teams which play in the Surrey Junior Cricket Championship.
Kit
Cricket inherently involves a certain amount of kit. The club has some kit, so it is not essential to purchase bats, pads, etc. straightaway for newcomers. However, for those playing with a hard ball, protective boxes and helmets are good first purchases, as they are items best not shared! Please note that helmets are mandatory for wicket keepers and batsmen when playing hardball cricket (U10's and above).
Teams playing in the SJCC are encouraged to play in coloured kit, which will be available from the Club on a refundable deposit basis.
