The Llamas triumph in an evening of thrilling cricket and high spirits

The Hog ’n Hundred is no ordinary cricket match — it’s a beloved annual spectacle, a riot of colour, noise, and local pride where club players transform into gladiators for 100 balls of glorious mayhem.

Blessed by fine evening weather (the calm before the storm?) and a crowd bordering on fever-pitch, the day was made even more special thanks to Willie the Outwood butcher and club president, who not only sponsored the event but, alongside trusty sidekick Dave, dished up a feast fit for kings.

The match itself? Loud, fiery, and unashamedly competitive. Old friendships were momentarily forgotten as rivals clashed with playful venom. In the end, Lucas’s Llamas triumphed yet again, defeating Dru’s Dinosaurs for the fourth time in five years — a streak now bordering on dynasty.

Every run, wicket, and sledge was cheered to the rafters by the boisterous crowd. It was an evening of cricket, camaraderie, and community spirit. Quite simply, the club at its absolute best.
