Club President William Walton hosted a fabulous day of food, friendship and fun with his second edition President's Day. It was a long, hot day opening, as is traditional, with a luncheon for the teams and invited guests before the match started at 2pm.

The traditions of the match go back many decades, with the honours swinging back and forth between the club 1st XI and the Presdient's XI. This year President Will's men made it two from two as Outwood 1st XI fell to a 67-run defeat, despite a battling unbeaten-adjacent effort from Manny Hafeez that threatened to derail the visitors' total.

Batting first, The President's XI posted a competitive 253 for 8 from their 35 overs. Openers J Troddy (68 off 35 balls) and B Stewart (38) put on 115 for the first wicket to lay the foundation, before both fell in quick succession. O Howell added a composed 50, and a late cameo of 22 off just 7 balls from J Wylie kept the scoreboard ticking. A middle-order wobble saw four wickets fall for just two runs between the 224 and 226 mark, but not-out contributions from G Peters (9) and K Patel (18) carried the total past 250.

W Blease (2-15) and A Kendall (2-28) were the pick of Outwood's bowlers, conceding runs sparingly, while M Malley also chipped in with two wickets.

In reply, Outwood were rocked early by A Robbin, who tore through the top order with figures of 4 for 11, reducing the hosts to 68 for 6. From there, M Hafeez mounted a superb rearguard, striking 66 off 58 balls including three sixes, and found an able ally in A Middleton (48), the pair adding 110 for the eighth wicket to briefly revive hopes of an unlikely chase. However, once Middleton fell the innings unravelled, and Outwood were bowled out for 186 in the 31st over.

B Cleaver (2-27) and J Wylie (2-29) supported Robbin well with the ball as The President's XI closed out victory by 67 runs.
