Penshurst Park journied to the 'Wood, to find the Soops in spectacular form.

Starting the match with only 10 players was always going to be a challenge for Penshurst but finding the 2nd XI batters in such good form made a difficult job an insurmountable one.

Winning the toss, Penshurst elected to field, and Outwood was soon scoring freely. Mike Cleaver cantered along at a run a ball to 26 before falling to LBW to Rasheed. Skipper Hall, scoring 55 from 89 balls was joined by Lawrence Williams who played patiently at first before playing his shots. Keith fell with the score on 152 - c&b Rasheed. Enter Max Stenberg who proceeded to blast 41 in 14 balls before he was bowled with the score on 199 in the 30th over.

Even then, there was no respite. Vice Captain Harry Mawer then joined the fray and between them Harry and Lawrence scored another 131 runs in 10 overs. Lawrence reached his 102 in 75 balls with 11 balls to go, allowing Harry to close out his innings and reach 100 with 28 taken from the last 8 balls he faced - including the last scrambled single from the final ball.

In reply, Penshurst made a solid start reaching 42 before losing their opener to Imran, bowled.

Thereafter Tom bowled eight overs finishing with 4 wickets for 39 runs with Penshurst running out of puff 133 runs short of the target.

A solid 20 points keeps us in the running for promotion, leaving us handily placed in 4th place at the start of the run in to the end of the season.
