The Outlaws produced another fine performance with both bat and ball to take control of the Surrey Slam SE3 league with a win over unbeaten Merstham Magics
Winning the toss, skipper Matt Norman once again decided to bat (Matt is also available for lottery number selections)
Openers Ashley Middleton and Michael Stephen retired on 50 and 55 runs respectively, and with the middle order also piling on quick runs the innings closed on 205. Nat Hiscocks (15), Matt Norman (28) and Harry Mawer (29) all took advantage of loose bowling.
In reply the Magics were never allowed to settle and could only score slowly against accurate bowling from the Outlaws youth. Matt Talbot (4-1-14) was particularly good at keeping the pressure on the Magics batsmen. It was Harry Mawer who effectively killed off any lingering hope of a magic revival with 4 wickets for 14 runs in 2.2 overs - including a near hat-trick, missed only by a wide between the first two wickets and the third.
So we top the table and have a two week gap before we host the Oxted Grasshoppers at home on 13 June
