With some apprehension Outwood turned out to play South Nutfield in the first match of the 2019 indoor league tournament having been beaten in all our matches before Christmas. However Maz and Lauren got us off to a fantastic start with the mother and daughter partnership of Charlotte and Ella been left with a score of -5 for their 2 overs. The other South Nutfield parings did not fare much better with some slick fielding from the Blazers and more great bowling, with Bernie joining the attack. Their highest pair score was 13 runs with an overall total of 216 runs for the Blazes to chase. It was then time for Outwood to pick up their bats... cool heads and a low risk approach was what was required and our pairs delivered - Bernie and Lucinda started us off with a pairs win, followed by Maz and Nat (who was nursing an arm injury and finally Lauren and Kate. Laura gave lots of support from the balcony, luckily her lungs were working, although she had been let down by her feet which kept her from playing. Everyone delivered and a shocked South Nutfield left the field with only two points and an equally surprised Outwood with a fantastic 6 points.
