Fresh from their victory over South Nutfield the Blazes moved onto play Godalming. We knew they were a good side having seen them play last summer but we hadn't played them indoors. Again we got to field first and were impressed with their quick running between the wickets. However they got little chance to do this against the strong attack from Maz, Lauren and Bernie. Wickets were tumbling and there was little for Godalming on the scoreboard. Their last pair came out to bat and had to face Lauren in the last over. She took one wicket and with her next ball another. The umpire was piling on the pressure for a hat trick, the tension was felt across the pitch and especially by Laura and her father in the Gallery. Lauren kept a cool head and bowled yet another great ball and another wicket fell. After all the celebrations, when the Godalming score was added up, they had a total score of 206 to chase down. Their bowling attack was excellent with Maz and Nat taking the full force of it. Lauren and Kate to the cautious option and let the wides mount up which took us ahead. Bernie and Lucinda faced a fierce attack but managed to keep ahead. As Bernie faced the last ball she could not afford to loose her wicket but we all knew she wouldn't. The Blazes had won again and 'Hat trick Lauren' was officially a legend. What a great evening - well done everyone it was a great team effort with outstanding performances from Maz and Lauren.
